My name is Kristof Eberly and here is some stuff about me:
Here is a picture of me! in my uniform.
Here is a picture of my wife(She is a nurse). Here is the map of the Eve of World War I. Here is a picture of us in the trenches.
About me:
I was drafted, I really had no intentions on joining this war. I was drafted as soon as Austria-Hungary needed help with the Serbs. More and More nations were out to kill one another and I wanted nothing to do with it. I made some close friends while I was in the war here is a picture of all of us and my dog Bingo. My wife Heidi signed up to be a nurse when she found out I was being drafted, she couldn't bare to let me go to war without her there. I have been injured a few times, the worst was me getting shot in my right leg and i couldn't walk for days. Heidi and I had to leave our children at home with my sister Amelia, here is a picture of Amelia and my mother Doris. I have 4 kids Emilie, Erik, Elli, and Ebba. here is a picture of all of them, Ebba is the youngest Elli has brown hair and Emilie has blonde and Erik has a soldier uniform on.
Here is a picture of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie riding in there care before the assassination.
December 20th 1915- Being in these trenches is getting a lot of us sick and is killing most of us, plus everyone getting shot. My wife Heidi has not gotten any rest for a year basically trying to save all these lives. 5 days till christmas if I'm alive I will at least get to spend it with my wife.
December 23rd 1915-I haven't seen Heidi for a few days, I'm starting to get worried about her I hope she is not sick. I hope Amelia is taking good care of the kids. I got the news from my mom Doris that my Dad died a few weeks ago...
Now i know why they didn't draft him with me, he has been sick for quite sometime and they didn't want to risk anyone else catching what he had. Well it wouldn't of made a difference anyway since just about everyone is sick here. I hope they won't draft Erik in next hes just a boy and doesnt deserve being a part of this war. We just keep losing so many men they are just about to draft anyone over the age of 10! The bomb sirens are going off let's hope i get to finish my entry later.
God Bless.

December 25th 1915-Today is Christmas, we got food brought in for us all. We had some pig and duck to eat, I must say... it wasn't that bad to be honest with you. It was so much better than the food we usually eat. I got to sit down and eat with Heidi, we sat there and talked about how much we miss the kids and all. We both still haven't heard anything about Erik possibly being drafted next, but we pray to god that he won't. We want him safe and our three girls, we want them all safe and sound and okay when we return home. January 1917- As this war continues more and more people are dying every single day. I don't know how were all going to survive out here. All of the men are sick including me, our nurses are getting sick also so its hard for them to take care of anyone anymore. We don't get any sleep either which isn't helping anything. This is where we slept, in trenches yay!
March 1919- The war is finally over. I haven't been able to write in this thing for years. I'm home now, I'm okay, and so is Heidi. But our son Erik got drafted on October 1917 and he lasted in the war until May 1918. He was shot in the stomach right before my eyes. Heidi risked everything to save him..but it was just to late. So now I'm home with my 3 girls and living the rest of my life without fear, I'm so so happy this war is finally over and I'm home now and I get to live the rest of my life in peace.
